Performance for Process, Intergalactic Studio, Artscape, Toronto
Curated by lo bil. 2014
“Scar Tissue” was addressing issues of memory and loss. It employed the metaphor of a wound, physical and/or emotional, a wound which may heal but which leaves a scar, a trace, a residue. It may be invisible but there is a scarring that remains present in the tissue, in the memory.
As part of the performance I gave away small drawings, self-portraits that I had made, as a way of bridging the gap between the self-reflections of the performer and the audience as witness.
