Performed for the Pi*llOry live performance art event at Barbara Hall Park.
July 18, 2021
This performance evolved from “Teetering on an Edge”, performed in 2019 for Pi*llOry’s first iteration. It speaks to the precariousness of negotiating im/mobility through disability and aging. My need to use walking sticks has led me to interact with “sticks” in new ways, balancing their utility as walking aids with their inherent beauty. Gifted with 2 beaver-gnawed sticks from the Magnetawan River just prior to the performance, “Shuddering Sticks” became an interaction between history and possibility.
Special thanks to Holly Timpener and fellow Pi*llOrists.
